Carpenter Bee Drawing

A Carpenter Bee approximately 4.5x6” image size on 11.5x8” Moleskine paper. (Watermark does not appear on actual drawing)

Ballpoint pen rendering of a carpenter bee drawn from life in my Moleskine sketchbook. You can easily tell the carpenter bees from bumblebees because these guys have the shiny black back end instead of the bumblebees yellow fur. They also like to “drill” perfectly round 3/8” holes in wood to nest in. Amazing creatures, ahem, until they decide to nest in the trim boards of your house.
